"stargays" is Incredibly fucking good and gay, i love it. i wonder what sugar specifically was dreaming about? she's being a little vague about it, but it might just be because dreams are always hard to remember once you get up.
also, congrats on the move to philidelphia! i hope you get settled in quick!
also, i know this is a long shot but... i just thought that maybe, justttt maybe lola's eye shines are bcs of whenever they're under the influence of drugs or alcohol. i looked back and i think when they're sober their eye shines are still there so it kinda disproves it but yknow just a thought.
did- did lola just call theirselves "star-crossed lovers"? cause thats pretty clever. it almost sounds like sugar buys into it as well but they're saying it just to shoot the breeze.
These two are pretty intelligent and spend a lot of their time, even at ease, being very, v e r y, selective of their words- so how aware are they to what they just said?
Hell, everything they say is so normal to what I've heard and said but these two, with their context, just make it all sound like theyre teetering on some edge. And I can't even tell what it is. It can be defined as a lot of things but its so personal and closed.
That kinda shows in the "'healthy' and 'nice' never go together." cause while theyre so sweet to each other, something isn't exactly 'good' about their reassurances. Not really a facade but more of... something that tries to only look problematic at worse. Sugar almost seems to be thrown off by it.
"stargays" oh my god i love that pun its my favourite
like another person said before me, tho, it seems like lola just subtly called their relationship with sugar as 'star-crossed', which honestly would make a lot of sense considering how they view their own existence. i always read lola as sort of a nihilist, to be honest.
also re: lola's eyes theory, ill be honest and say that in my theory (or, imt) the eyes shine when theyre being gay towards sugar, because both times their lower eyes shined they were really happy because of sugar or something sugar did.
yeah you're right. i read over that page again and while im not good enough at picking up subtle things (alas, The Autisms) page 50 seems to be the biggest clue.
tho i think we can all agree that whatever lola's eye shines mean, it absolutely is connected to sugar, in some way shape or form.
stargays.. thats so sweet haha i wanna cry. i love how different these two are, and how much they respect and trust each other, this comic can be both soul-crushing and extremely heartwarming. it's a nice feeling
