I really like how you're pacing each page, like, the thin blank panel to show passage of time is like, really cool, I never would have thought to do that! And the characters' expressions shine through really well.

hi i feel real silly asking this but i have been trying to figure it out since forever, about the line "...if it's not the tips, you think she just likes me?" i get that it's in reference to the delivery girl (i think?) but what exactly does it mean...? like is it just that she's the regular delivery girl that they see often and something makes lola think she likes them, or something to that effect? SORRY i know this bit is like probably kind of not the point but i just keep thinking about it... anyway Thanks for your excellent comic and Thanks if you take the time to respond (but don't feel obligated of course. not knowing the answer to this little detail won't lessen my drop-out experience any)

hiya rq.
sugar's the one who says that line, and you're mostly right.
she knows that there's usually more than one employee who delivers pizza at a given place, but the same girl keeps delivering pizza to them (been going on since before lola lived there).
since lola has answered the door more since she moved in, to sugar, the only reason that the same delivery girl keeps showing up is probably because she likes her.
it's a simple exchange to build up a little backstory for their daily lives prior to the plot, fodder for proof that they're canonically gay characters, and sugar's penchant for misinterpreting social situations (with, perhaps, other subconscious reasons one could extrapolate for why THAT was what sugar assumed, as opposed to more stereotypical paranoid thoughts like "this person must be planning to kill me.")
thank you for the comment, and sorry this explanation's a bit lengthy for such a short line! hopefully that helps explain it.

oh! thank you so much. now that you say that, i realize it is quite obvious that sugar is the one saying it, but i somehow didn't notice... sometimes i miss little details in visual images even if i'm trying to look for them, so thank you for putting so much thought into the explanation, it was really helpful!

it's okay!
these were the first few comic pages i ever drew and looking at them now, i can absolutely see why the dialog placement might confuse people. the bubbles, at the very least, should have switched sides, so that lola's bubble was next to her.
i've been planning to redo the first 5 pages since about page 30 (stipulation being that i need to finish the story first before i'll let myself), and i'll keep that in mind when redrawing this.
