I really like lola's point about like, wanting aspects of you you had control over to have more impact than the parts you don't

omg, i just thought more about it... and in a world of animal people, it seems even more scary. i wonder if in this world, it's frowned upon to eat others, or it's just accepted. the cows and pigs should be more sentient and maybe even walk on two legs, or are there animals that still dont speak? (like goofy & pluto kinda thing)

hi. to answer your questions:
1) yes, it's considered sick to eat other people. it's not very common for people to eat each other, but after some infamous murder cases involving cannibalism, most people assume carnivores are predators by nature.
carnivores have created a small subculture amongst themselves for this reason. that's why there are some businesses specifically for carnivores to socialize, like restaurants.

2) there are definitely feral animals, but they aren't as common in this world anymore. it's common practice to harass and kill wildlife if an animal is seen under the assumption that it helps with the strain put on the environment's resources.
the characters you're looking at here are actually, in essence, humans heavily modified with animal genetics, many of them species of animals that don't even exist anymore.

the meat carnivores eat is a combination of feral animal meat that's farmed/hunted (more expensive, restaurant quality) and the meat of people who died naturally and vouched for it after death or had no one to pay for them to otherwise dispose of their body.

i love how much thought you've put into not only the characters themselves, but the world they live in!! it's really interesting to learn about the society they live in and the predator/prey dynamics
