i spent a while trying to get the whispering to look right on this page, but thanks to the dark setting the dashed lines were either not visible or really visually disorienting.
hopefully the substitute makes their speech a little softer looking.
I feel the speech bubbles for whispering get across the softer effect, since the color lining n them creates a sort of fade/blend to the general darkness of the surrounding. It goes well with how nice the night scene lighting & shading (and also that awesome night sky) are.
the camera/angle flows really well from panel to panel. it feels odd that lola has no reason to live, she feels really stuck and unable to change? could this also be related to their relationship too? just thinking. o3o if sugar dies without lola, lola might feel really guilty and feel like wanting to die too, so lola has no input really, it's just die or die. but sugar has choices available, like financial maybe what that means, we'll see next week. SORRY FOR FAN SPECULATION I NEED MORE
hopefully the substitute makes their speech a little softer looking.
